Kessler Automation LLC
An IT consultancy out of Fort Gratiot, Michigan. I take on infrastructure, security, and automation work for small and mid-size businesses, remote or on-site in the Blue Water area and metro Detroit.
The same hands that run the production code and tooling on this site. No reseller tier, no account manager, no ticket queue.
What I Do
Web Engineering
Static sites, web apps, and backends from database to CDN. Hugo, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, Terraform. Migrations off WordPress and off whoever’s hosting your current site. Sites that cost under $20 a month to run and stay up without a maintenance contract.
IT Automation
Scripts, pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code that take recurring work off a person’s calendar. PowerShell, Bash, Python, Go. Scheduled jobs, deploy automation, backup rotation, user onboarding and offboarding. If you do it the same way twice a month, I’ll turn it into one command.
IT Support
Workstation setup, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace administration, Active Directory, printers, backup, remote support. Small-office networks and multi-site networks. Project-based or on a retainer.
Cybersecurity & Data Protection
Defensive work for the people running the network. Hardening audits, endpoint protection deployment (SentinelOne and alternatives), firewall and VLAN segmentation, VPN, MFA rollout, phishing training, DMARC and email auth, incident response. Backup and disaster recovery that you’ve actually tested, not just paid for.
Offensive Security & Vulnerability Research
Authorized penetration testing, red-team engagements, and vulnerability research. I find real bugs in real software and write them up the way vendors want to receive them. Recent public work:
- A macOS TCC category gap that lets any user process stream from USB serial devices without consent. Reported to Apple; write-up featured in Hackaday.
- A pfBlockerNG IPv6 crash that silently breaks IPv4 feeds on pfSense. Write-up.
- Patch-guide analysis of CVE-2025-6218 and the CVE-2025-8088 WinRAR zero-day used by RomCom and Sandworm. Write-up.
- Pre-exploitation threat-intelligence analysis that called the 2025 Cisco ASA zero-day cluster. Write-up.
For companies: authorized pentests against staging or replica environments, product security reviews, and focused research against a specific target or codebase. Written reports with reproducers, CVSS, and remediation steps, the same quality I use for coordinated disclosure.
Hardware Procurement
Authorized Dell and Ingram Micro partner. Workstations, servers, networking, licensing, warranty. Deploy, image, and support included on request, not billed separately.
Who This Is For
- Small businesses with one or two servers and nobody full-time to run them
- Offices that outgrew the owner’s nephew doing IT on weekends
- Companies that need a project done once, not an ongoing MSP contract
- Shops with a Michigan footprint who want someone an hour or two away
How This Works
- Email with a rough description of the problem or project
- Short call to scope it out, no charge
- Written proposal with fixed price or hourly cap
- Start
Larger projects get milestones. Smaller projects get done.
